The following definitions apply to the Pumpkin Preventive Essentials Care program as described in the Customer Agreement and your Preventive Essentials Summary Page. Please refer to your Preventive Essentials Summary Page for the list of Benefits applicable to your plan. Except as required by law, we reserve the right to modify these definitions at any time and without notice.

Advanced Blood Chemistry Panel | An advanced chemistry panel which includes 25-30 chemistries |
Advanced Wellness Blood Screening | A complete blood count (or packed cell volume/ total solids) diagnostic test with advanced chemistry panel which includes 25-30 chemistries |
Blood Pressure Test for Routine Preventive Care | Preventative indirect arterial blood pressure test, including doppler ultrasonography and oscillometric blood pressure monitoring |
Blood Test for FIV & FeLV | A preventive screening test for feline immunodeficiency virus and feline leukemia diseases |
Blood Test for FIV, FeLV & Heartworm | A preventive screening test for heartworm, feline immunodeficiency virus and feline leukemia diseases |
Blood Test for Heartworm & Tick Diseases | A preventive vector borne diseases diagnostic test which may include a single test for one or more of the following diseases: (a) heartworm, (b) ehrlichia; (c) anaplasma; and (d) lyme |
Complete Urinalysis for Bladder Health | A preventive urinalysis diagnostic test to screen for physical and chemical properties of urine |
Dental Strip Test for Periodontal Disease | A periodontal / gingivitis health test performed using a strip to measure the level of thiol in saliva |
ECG Test for Heart Health | A preventative diagnostic electrocardiogram (ECG) diagnostic test to assess heart health |
Fecal "Poop" Test for Giardia | A preventive giardia diagnostic test |
Fecal "Poop" Test for Intestinal Worms | A preventive fecal flotation diagnostic test, without giardia |
Fecal "Poop" Test for Intestinal Worms & Giardia | A preventive fecal flotation and giardia combination diagnostic test |
ProBNP Blood Test for Heart Health | A preventive blood test to measure the pet's heart health by measuring the concentration of NT-proBNP |
SDMA Test for Kidney Health | A preventative blood test to monitor kidney function |
Spay/Neuter Pre-Anesthetic Bloodwork | The preanesthetic blood tests for spay / neuter surgery to ensure that kidney and liver function are satisfactory prior to administering anesthetic, including core chemistry + hematocrit with total protein or complete blood count test |
Standard Wellness Blood Screening | A complete blood count (or packed cell volume/ total solids) diagnostic test with standard chemistry panel which includes 8-14 chemistries |
Total T4 Blood Test for Hypothyroidism | A blood test to measure the level of the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4) |
Ultrasound for Routine Preventive Care | Ultrasonography performed for routine preventive care to image internal body structures including abdomen, neck, thorax, heart, and shoulders |
X-Ray for Routine Preventive Care | 2-view radiography for routine preventive care, including thorax, orthopedic (e.g., hips, shoulders), and dental views |

Wellness Exam Fee | A wellness visit to a licensed veterinarian office where a service or product covered by your Pumpkin Preventive Essentials is provided, administered or prescribed |

Rabies Tag for Proof of Vaccination | The fee for your pet’s rabies tag |
Spay/Neuter Anesthesia Monitoring | The monitoring of the patient during a spay / neuter surgery by an anesthesiologist, or with vital signs monitoring equipment |
Spay/Neuter Anesthetic | The anesthetic required to perform a spay & neuter surgery |
Spay/Neuter Fluid Support | The fluid support (using crystalloid fluids) of the anesthetized patient during a spay & neuter surgery |
Spay/Neuter IV Administration | The placement of an intravenous (IV) surgical catheter to administer anesthesia and fluid therapy during a spay / neuter surgery |
Spay/Neuter Post-Operative Laser Therapy | The photobiostimulation / photobiomodulation inducted by laser therapy to stimulate the healing process after a spay / neuter surgery |
Spay/Neuter Pre-Anesthetic Exam | The veterinarian’s assessment of the patient to determine the anesthetic protocol for the spay / neuter surgery about to be performed |
Spay/Neuter Surgery | The spay (ovariohysterectomy or ovariectomy) or neuter (castration) surgery |
Spay/Neuter Take-Home Pain Medication | The pain medications prescribed to patient to administer at home following a spay / neuter surgery |
Wellness Anal Gland Expression | A routine procedure in which your pet's anal glands are emptied (or "expressed") for preventive purpose |
