What are pre-existing conditions?
Pre-existing conditions are illnesses or injuries that occur before your pet insurance coverage starts or during a waiting period.³ This even includes signs and symptoms of an issue your vet may have flagged in your pet’s medical records. Like most pet insurance, Pumpkin doesn't cover pre-existing conditions. What’s different about us is that if a condition is curable, we could cover it if your pet has been fully recovered for 180 days and it comes back. Find out exactly what is considered a pre-existing condition.
1. You pay for veterinary treatment your pet needs.
2. You submit a claim for the care received.
3. Once approved, you’re reimbursed for all covered expenses – usually within a few days.
How does it work?
When your kid gets sick or hurt, we reimburse you directly for covered vet care costs.
